The Belgian Center for Fruit Growing (Pcfruit), together with the Universities of Hasselt and Maastricht, is starting a study on the usefulness of fruits in the production of building materials or textiles. This is reported by the Dutch Fruit Growers Organization (NFO).
Fibers from plants such as hemp are already being used as insulating material in construction. Pcfruit wants to explore whether substances found in fruit varieties could also find new uses. For fruit growers, this can be useful when, for example, there is an additional destination for fruits that are currently being processed industrially.
This includes ferulic acid. “This acid is found in several types of fruit. For example, it can be used in the textile industry to make clothing biodegradable,” Pcfruit Managing Director Dani Bylemans told VRT radio.
In addition to Pcfruit’s collaboration with the Universities of Hasselt and Maastricht, the pilot center is collaborating with the textile innovation center Centexbel in Ghent and Compas Agro in Venlo. The province of Limburg, Flanders and the European Union are jointly allocating 4 million euros for the study. This period is three years.

Pēc arodbiedrības domām, pastāv ievērojama plaisa starp darba devēju galīgo piedāvājumu un FNV darba samaksas prasībām. Darba devēju pārstāvji piedāvā algu palielināt par 3 procentiem no 1. gada 2023. janvāra un par 2 procentiem no 1. gada 2023. jūlija. FNV Agrarisch Groen direktore Linda Slugtere apgalvo, ka ar šo priekšlikumu darbinieku skaits noteikti tiks samazināts par 5 procentiem. .
Slagters FNV biedru lēmumu šim nepiekrist sauc par drosmīgu. Viņa arī uzskata, ka pārāk bieži tiek pārbaudīta darbinieku lojalitāte pret darba devējiem. "Mēs esam par to vīlušies un lūdzam darba devējus nākt klajā ar labāku piedāvājumu."
Vispārējā cenu kompensācija
FNV vēlas, lai uzturēšanās izdevumu pieaugums atspoguļotos darba samaksā. Turklāt arodbiedrība piedāvā koplīgumā iekļaut vispārējo cenu kompensāciju. Slugtere stāsta, ka FNV saprot, ka arī siltumnīcu dārzniekiem klājas grūti, taču viņa arī redz, ka arvien vairāk darbinieku vairs nezina, kā to finansiāli atbalstīt.
"Tas rada neapmierinātību darbavietā, un darba devēju galīgais priekšlikums par koplīgumu situāciju neuzlabo," sacīja arodbiedrības izpilddirektors. Pēc FNV datiem, ar siltumnīcu dārzkopību nodarbojas vidēji aptuveni 35,000 XNUMX darbinieku. Augstākās sezonas laikā šis skaitlis ir daudz lielāks.
